Grab your passport and my hand!
I know I’m a bit late to post this, but better late than never, right?
The Taylor Swift playlistathon is a month-long readathon, set between November 13th and December 13th. There are a total of 121 (one hundred and twenty-one!!) prompts, each based on Taylor Swift’s songs and albums. The principle is pretty simple: create your own Taylor Swift playlist and read the prompts for those songs.
A lot of my Twitter mutuals shared their excitement about this new readathon, and it’s been a few months since I haven’t done one, so why not do it myself too? I’m aiming to read 5 books in a month, which technically I have done several times, but with my kind of reading slump and the general anxious ambiance, I’m not sure I’ll succeed. But hey, as we say in France: qui ne tente rien n’a rien !

I created a playlist of 5 songs, some that I like, some that remind me of my childhood when I was listening to Taylor Swift’s earliest albums on repeat, and most of them that fitted my current TBR and reading mood!
I forgot that you existed
I forgot that you existed / It isn’t love, it isn’t hate / It’s just indifference

Read a book you already started once but never finished: I started reading Wuthering Heights last February. 9 months ago!! I wanted to read more classics this year, and Wuthering Heights was my first — and only — read… It wasn’t really what I expected (i.e. more in the Austen vibe) and I barely read half of it. But! It’s time to get back to it and try to finish it before 2021 is here!
The 1
But it would’ve been fun / If you would’ve been the one

Read a book with a one-word title: I haven’t decided exactly what I’ll read for this prompt, but it’ll be one of those two Alice Oseman books. I’ve been meaning to catch up on her novels before the end of the year, and so I hope to do it with this readathon.
Mean
But someday I’ll be living in a big old city / And all you’re ever gonna be is mean, yeah / Someday, I’ll be big enough so you can’t hit me

Read a book under 200 pages: I used to love this song, and the message it carries — us being bigger and more successful than our bullies. But besides that personal fact, I chose to read for this one a poetry book! It’s been a while I haven’t read poetry, and I’m not gonna lie, it’s usually faster to read than a whole novella. I had Yesterday I was the Moon on my radar for a while now, and it’s the perfect opportunity to read it!
Breathe
I see your face in my mind as I drive away / ‘Cause none of us thought it was gonna end that way

Read a book featuring a f/f romance: I’ve received an eARC of The Love Curse of Melody McIntyre thanks to the publisher, and I cannot wait to dive into it — and I even think it’s gonna be the first book I’ll start for this readathon.
State of Grace
These are the hands of fate / You’re my Achilles heel

Read a greek myth retelling: Circe has been sitting on my shelves for a few months now, and I heard only great things about it, and I really wanted to read it (I mean, I bought it) so… here we go!

How about you? Are you participating in this readathon?
What are the next books you’re planning to read?

I am taking part in this readathon as well! Am so excited!

I know that I planned on participating and even made a TBR but… I promptly forgot about it because my reading slowed down 😬 Now I need to pick back up.
